A 4th pet

Well, once again we've added to our little crew.

A small female raccoon has signed on to the team.

She's on the back porch or hanging out under the Rhodie's morning, noon and night.

She certainly looks like she's birthed a litter but if she has, they haven't come up to the house yet.

My guess is that she had a small litter and they all died.

On Sunday, we were sitting out back and she climbed up the big fir tree, crawled out on a limb over our heads and took a nap.

That's also her in the garden photo.

Any that wants to name her can post a suggestion.

I'm hesitant because they kind of come and go...

I'm curious..what leads you to believe she birthed a litter? If she's small as you say...well, I don't know really, but what got you thinking that? The time of the year?

As far as names..how about something like they use for naming hurricanes and typhoons...an alphabetical list prepared annually for each one. Go down the list until the 'coon season is through...then start again. No need to worry about deep attachment or overly strong emotional bonds..and at the same time, they'll all be 'named'...you could take photos and post a running 'roll call' of visiting racoons by the door. The kids (and adults) might like to try to 'Identify/Name that 'Coon' game.
But hurry up, after Obama becomes the leader of the free world...'Name that Coon' won't be appropriate...

Her huge nipples were sort of an indicator.
